Jukka is a Senior Research Fellow at the Unit of Information and Knowledge Management at the Faculty of Business and Management at Tampere University. He is a computational method specialist who has joined investigations on the dynamics of large-scale business ecosystems, the aftermath of terror attacks in hybrid media, and professional social matching. Over the last few years, he has focused on developing a methodology for using digital trace data to investigate and theorize the role of communicative AIs in organizing on digital platforms.
About the Event
Jukka examined how digital trace data and computational methods can be used to study organizational behavior. He provided practical advice for research teams using those methods to tackle interdisciplinary research questions. His recommendations included running joint data sessions where all team members have access to source data and online notebooks, organizing reading circles to foster dialogue between different disciplines, and working toward a mutual understanding of discipline-specific values, norms, and virtues. He also stressed the importance of conceptualizing interdisciplinary work as long-term projects rather than focusing solely on individual papers.
